NVSC Covid Information for our Figure Skating Programs

  As always please follow proper hygiene as noted below and be safe. Proper hygiene can help reduce the risk of infection or spreading infection to others. Please use the following precautions: Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after using the washroom and when preparing food. Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available. Cough or sneeze into a tissue or the bend of your arm, not your hand. Dispose of any tissues you have used as soon as possible in a lined waste basket and wash your hands afterwards. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands. Clean high-touch surfaces frequently with regular household cleaners or Wipes Avoid physical contact and getting too close to others, including shaking hands and hugging. Junior STAR/STAR 1 Welcome to Jr. STARskate!!! The Nicola Valley Figure Skating Club is excited to include the Junior STAR program. Junior STAR, an introductory to Learn how to Figure skate program, it is designed to assist the skater to transition and bridge from the Junior Academy/CanSkate Stages of 4, 5, 6 to the Skate Canada Jr. STARskate Program. (STAR 1) Our Junior STAR program, is taught by a NCCP Certified Professional Coach in a group format, introducing skaters to the foundations, and fundamentals of figure skating, and teaches skills for learning to train and practice for the sport. In addition to edges, turns, stops, spins and jumps, skaters learn warm-up drills both on ice and off . Skills, dance & elements from the STAR 1 program are featured and learnt during this session .
